A bit about us
The people behind the brand
Why eKuiLibriuM? eKuiLibriuM personal training is run by husband and wife team, Larry and Kimberley Mangelshot. We established eKuiLibriuM in 2004 and it was borne from our mutual interest in sport, health, fitness & wellbeing. We wanted to name our business in a manner that would reflect our ethos on life. So we created eKuiLibriuM; take the K, L & M and you have us. Add that to balance and that is what we can offer you.
We both have 20 years experience of life in the corporate world, which means we truly understand the realities of a pressurised work/life balance. In the early noughties, our life changed with the arrival of our gorgeous daughter and the opportunity to re-train gaining qualifications in personal fitness training and eKuiLibriuM evolved. We keep up-to-date with developments in the industry and our passion is to help motivate people to achieve their goals.

Kim
Growing up, I never found sport easy! Although I am very proud of my 5 Star athletics award from primary school! In my mid-20’s I was 2 stone heavier than I am now – too much over indulgence, and not enough fitness. My determination to succeed and be as fit and healthy for life spurs me on. My mum, before she passed in 2000, and now my brother have Multiple Sclerosis. My outlook on fitness is about making the most of what you have and never stopping making an effort. I am also a keen runner and have recently conquered my fear of swimming and started to train for triathlons.

Larry
I am a former UK international middle distance track athlete. At the peak of my athletic career I competed against the likes of Coe, Ovett and Cram. More recently, I have continued my athletic career into ‘Masters Athletics’ at both European and World level. My drive to be the best that I can be and determination have kept me ‘on track’ long after some of my contemporaries. I’ve always been a keen sportsman and nowadays I can frequently be found on a road bike whizzing around the Hertfordshire countryside, when I’m not walking Bella our dog.

Us as a team
A husband and wife working together? Madness?! No! We bring a balance to the business but still have our own identities and personalities. When you are self-employed you have to enjoy what you do, and keep smiling every day! Generally we work with our own clients, but do cover each others sessions where necessary. We do both get involved with all our clients' journeys, getting to know them and offer advice and guidance as relevant.
